How do we find the volume and area of a cone

If you can measure the sloping side length L it will save work in the calculation.Area = pi*r^2 [base] + pi*r*L [curved side] with L sqrt(r^2 + h^2)-Hello! The formula for a cone is the (basearea (which is the radius x radius x pi) times hight)/3. Understand? Sorry I have a little bit of a problem writing formulas without a pen ;) I dont really understand what you mean by area but I would guess that you are talking about the cones cover and basearea put together?If you dont understand feel free to ask questions!......
My math teacher didn't explain it to us. We have to build a robot, and some parts of it are cones.
I can find the radius and the circumference.
Thank you in advance!

You need to know the radius of the base r and the height h. If you can measure the sloping side length L it will save work in the calculation.

Volume = (1/3)*pi*(r^2)*h

Area = pi*r^2 [base] + pi*r*L [curved side] with L sqrt(r^2 + h^2)

Hello! The formula for a cone is the (basearea (which is the radius x radius x pi) times hight)/3. Understand? Sorry I have a little bit of a problem writing formulas without a pen ;) I don't really understand what you mean by area but I would guess that you are talking about the cones "cover" and basearea put together? That would be basarea plus (pi x radius x side of the cone)

If you don't understand feel free to ask questions! :D
