I heard about the sinkhole in Florida... I was just wondering the odds of one in Illinois :/

Your odds are almost none. Illinois pavement is concrete or granite or asphault. Majority of ground in Florida is limestone under housing. It is weaker and tends to give way quite often. Thus creating a sinkhole. You are fine. :)

There are some in Pere Marquette State Park that Iv seen.
Lot of limestone/dolomite along Mississippi river drainage,
that would be most conducive to them forming.

ikr i saw that too. just imagine laying in ur bed and a sinkhole comes in takes u in. thats like something that would happen in a movie.. crazyyy !!!
