How to make a 1v voltage dropper

I have a power source that is supposed to be 8v 1a but is a constant 9.45v which is to much. So how can I subtract 1v from that?

If you put 2 diodes in series with the supply you will get close to 8 volts.

Your going to have to use a resistor in line with the output.
I'm a bit rusty at this but i believe your need a 220ohm 1/4 resistor
