What is AC RMS voltage

707 if im still not mistaking this digit.. And after that you can now start with your usual caculation........
In a question i am asked to find the RMS voltage output of a circuit. The question states the voltage source is AC and has an RMS voltage 20V?

Could someone tell me what the things i have to do differently in my calculations when there's an AC voltage supply as opposed to a DC supply, and what is RMS and how does that effect my calculations also?

Many thanks for any replies

You have nothing to do with the input voltage of 20V as it has already been given in rms value and also the output is asked in rms value. Just treat it as DC calculations.

However if you are given with AC peak voltage, then only multiply it by 0.707 to get RMS value.

N.B.: Generally AC values are given in RMS (Root Mean Square) unless otherwise specified.

Dude rms value is stands for root mean sqare of the voltage source as it is a sinusoidal wave the rms value is the value of the voltage divided by .707 if im still not mistaking this digit.. And after that you can now start with your usual caculation..
