It started the snow today, and i was wondering why people say that all snow things look different. I don't really understand how that is true. When i was looking outside they all looked the same to me. The only variation that i can see with the snow is that sometimes it is thicker, and sometimes it's heavier and wet. So why do people say that snowflakes are identical?

People don't say snowflakes are identical. They say they are all different. but I say that is hogwash. I have a chemistry degree and an engineering degree. It is highly probable that there are multiple snowflakes in any given snowstorm that look alike. It just isn't likely that you will find them before they melt. Perhaps if you were to set up a couple of those traffic cameras that have facil recognition software, but you reprogram them to compare flakes instead of faces, you may be the first to disprove the theory!
Good luck with that, and you are right to question conventional "knowledge" such as this.

The crystals the water creates when frozen are in a unique patern. Differences can only be seen under microacope.

If they were put under a microscope, you would be able to see that they are different. Google 'snowflake microscope' :D
