"Past Due" is relative to timing of previous eruptions, lots of thousands of years, so we would want to see what happened before previous explosions begin to happen - 10 inches in an absurdly small amount.
For the super volcano to explode it would have to build to thousands of feet tall to have a magma chamber under it - and it hasn't really started.

If that super volcano were to erupt, it would depending on the wind block the sun from the huge ash cloud that drifts overhead. There was a story about that several years ago on Discovery Channel. It would be like it was when a major asteroid hit our earth millions of years ago, wiping out the dinosaurs.

dont you mean IF ? If it did, then a major part of the USA would be in deep doodoo.
If it did erupt most of the industrialised world would be aware of what is going on , mainly through communications and seismic recordings, and so on.
Your questions are all good ones but at this time it is really impossible to predict just waht the ramifications would be.

When the Yellowstone supervolcano erupts, it will be a global disaster - it won't just affect the US.
