it says to write the nett ionic equation for reaction i observed between the following substances... we tested a lot of oxides with water, sulphuric acid and sodium hydroxide... do i write my nett ionic equations for my reactions with water? i don't think it would be different because they all have H+ ions...?
thanks for the help :)

Properly balanced CuO(s) will react with acid to produce Cu^2+(aq).
CuO(s) + 2 H^+(aq) --> Cu^2+(aq) + H2O(l)
This is the net ionic equation.
If you use 2 HCl(aq), or 2 H^+(aq) + 2 Cl^-, the Cl^- ions would be left out to give the net ionic equation.
The same would be true if the acid was nitric or sulfuric. See the link for additional information.

CuO + H2O --> Cu(OH)2(s)
aqueous H+ is water
the net ionic would be CuO(s) + H+ + OH- --> Cu(OH)2
aqueous H+ is water
the net ionic would be CuO(s) + H+ + OH- --> Cu(OH)2
