causes a drop in the pH of the body of water.c) Nitorgen oxides destroy Ozone, which is responsible for preventing overly significant quantities of Ultraviolet radiation from reaching the surface of the Earth. Ozone is a rather volatile compound, being very delicate and easilly destroyed by Nitrogen Oxides. The destruction of the Ozone increases surface radiation levels and can also lead to global warming due to the increased level of radiation at ground level.......
a) List any possible sources of nitrogen oxides.
b) Explain how they affect the pH of the water in our ecosystems
c) Explain how they contribute to air pollution and global warming

a) Nitrogen is formed during combustion processes at high temperature. An example is Thunderstorms which form Nitrogen Oxides by splitting the Nitrogen atoms in the atmosphere and do so due to the immense heat in lightning.
b)The presence of Nitrogen Oxides forms Nitric acid, which falls in the form of acid rain. This acidic rain falls into lakes and rivers and as a result, causes a drop in the pH of the body of water.
