Need Some Advice On My Grade

Look at your study guide if your teacher made one. Make sure you study in a quiet place with no distractions and make sure you manage your time and take small breaks. When youre feeling stressed or stuck on something when studying or taking the exam, breathe really slow and deep. The answers always come to me when I do that. It helps calm me.......
i am failing chemistry, this whole semester i've been working really hard, and trying my best in trying to pull up my grade. i'm not one of those students that slack off, but i really want to do well in chemistry so i can take chemistry in grade 12. i pulled up my mark to exactly a 50 percent and now i have exams in a week. if i fail my final exam then i am going to fail chem. i don't know what to do.

i pray to god everyday to please help me pass that final and i'm always crying myself to sleep. i'm constantly worried about it. i just don't know anymore.

Ask your teacher for help. Ask for a tutor or after school sessions for help studying for your chem exam. Make you take all your past quizzes and tests (WITH corrections) and possible worksheets and homework. A lot of teachers will put most quiz and test questions on the exam. Look at your study guide if your teacher made one. Make sure you study in a quiet place with no distractions and make sure you manage your time and take small breaks. When you're feeling stressed or stuck on something when studying or taking the exam, breathe really slow and deep. The answers always come to me when I do that. It helps calm me. When you're taking the exam, look through it first. Make sure you take it with a positive attitude, it has been studied and shown to help improve grades. Again, manage your time when taking the exam as well. Don't spend too much time on a question. Underline or circle the number your on and go back to it. If you have an answer sheet, be careful that you're putting the answers on the right line. Make sure you organize yourself. I have not taken chem yet, I just finished freshmen year and I'm taking honors chem next year, so I don't know what is expected to be on the exam, but if there are formulas make sure you ask if you have to memorize them or if he/she will give them to you. I don't know if there's a lot of vocab but if there is, memorize them! It really helps when taking science tests. I really recommend you ask your teacher for help. Ask your friends for help or for them to tutor you. If you end up getting help from a friend, make sure you two don't start talking about other stuff and getting off topic unless you're taking a break. Water also helps so make sure you drink water. Eat grains, fiber, fruit, meat, and greens, nuts, before your exam like in the morning. I read that somewhere and I forget. Get plenty of rest. Try not to study the day of the exam. I read that some university did a study saying that is does help and it has helped me a lot. It helps with stress. I think it helps because it prevents you head from thinking too much at once if you know what I mean and it prevents stress. I took a west civ make up exam today. Barely studied because I've been sick lately. I have a 101 average in that class. People have said it was hard. I studied some of the outlines, looked at all the tests and quizzes, read some of the old sections in the textbook. People said that study guide didn't help at all. I didn't look at it much because it stressed me out so much and I always tried to remember everything all at once. So I didn't study a few hours before the exam and I know I aced that exam. I thought it was easy. Same for my bio exam I took. Breathing really helps so always remember to breathe deeply when you don't know the answer and you're freaking out. Often times you do know the answer but your brain is do stressed to think of it. Often, the answers are within the test. I always take a test thinking to myself "You got this. You are going to ace it like all the others. The answers are always in the test itself. Don't listen to the others." Ask others who have taken the exam if you're not taking it first how it goes. It helps. If you need any more advice because I feel like I left out some stuff, come email me. If you need someone to talk to you can also email me. I kind of just threw everything out there in a jumbled paragraph which is kind of a sign that my brain is totally worn out from taking those exams. What also helped is I sometimes say to myself "You're gonna get through this sooner and easier than you think. Summer is close which means you can take as long of a break as you need, so don't take one now, breathe and take the exam."
