I was wondering what was the hottest color of fire. I know blue is hotter than red. Would violet be the hottest because violet has the shortest wavelength on the visible light spectrum? ...Does wavelength even have an effect on temperature?

When considering the entire visible spectrum, then it would be white. If it were only a particular wavelength, then violet would be your answer, since it has the shortest wavelength/highest frequency of energy emission.
