Explanation: 3mol/L, you have 500mL= .5 (a half-liter) ,so divide 3 moles by half= 1.5 moles.=> moles = 3 X 0.......
How many moles of HCl are required to make 500 ml of a 3.0 mol/L solution of HCl?

Thanks guys!!

1.5 moles is the answer. Explanation: 3mol/L, you have 500mL= .5 (a half-liter) , so divide 3 moles by half= 1.5 moles.

well u cn solve it with the use of formula Molarity = Number of moles / Volume (in ltrs)

=> moles = 3 X 0.5 = 1.5 moles

Or u cn do it simply using definition of Molarity ..... 3 mol/ L solution means there r 3 moles of HCl in 1 ltr of solution .....SO 1/2 ltr ( 500 ml) should contain 3/2 moles of HCl or 1.5 moles of HCl.......

Hope tht helps !! hve a gud day !!1:D
