Biology H/W!
-
It's really not a biology question. The extra carbon is coming from burning fossil fuels. That's the most important thing to curtail if you want to keep CO2 levels down.
Biologically, you would want to support the growth of large long-lived organisms, like trees, or Coral Reefs. They'll take CO2 out of the atmosphere, and as long as they are healthy and intact, it'll stay in them, and not in the atmosphere.
