On one hand, you have hundreds of examples, sound evidence, and logic if you apply some critical thinking.
On the other, you have dogma and faith.
Why are some people insisting we instill even more ignorance in our youth by teaching the latter in schools?

I think it comes down to a misunderstanding of what evolution actually is. Evolution is often incorrectly confused as being a belief. Evolution, rather, is just a naturally occurring process.
-
No. Avoid using evolution as a primary point in an argument against the existence of a deity. Otherwise, it will spread ignorance regarding evolution

Never underestimate the human capacity for stupidity. There are still people who believe that the Earth is flat. Education is anathema to such ignorance. There is no real debate. The courts have made the matter abundantly clear, but politicians have seldom lost for appealing to such ignorance where it can be found.

I'm very religious but also a biology geek. I would love to learn both ways, but bottom line is schools can't do anything when it comes to religion and stuff like that. It's "school policy".

some people are really religious and want their children to too, but because of our time we teach mostly evolution, which some poeple just dont like so the schools dont want to offend families and want as many kids to go to their school

Students should be taught both and they should then decide based on the information that was given to them. Schools need to stop being bias, or else all they are doing is pumping out students that can not think for themselves.
