I just watched Alien and there is a scene where she opens the doors and air is sucked out into space, like if it were an airplane... What would happen to the air inside? Would it be like an airplane in he air?
-
The Alien would scoff and say "Do you really think 14 pounds per square inch is going to blow me out the airlock? I'll just have to grab onto something like your leg and as long as I don't get hungry and chomp it off, I'll be fine. Hmmm, the leg sure looks tasty, chomp... oh oh..."

When you uncork your bathtub, does all the water rush out in a second? Air is also a fluid and it will "bottleneck" at the open door and keep all the air from immediately rushing out into the vacuum, giving you a chance to close the door and start apologizing to everyone you ticked off.
"Would it be like an airplane in he air?" Watch Mythbusters. In real life, this doesn't happen like in the movies.

The intrusion alarm limit switch on the door would ring a bell. Then after the air was sucked out you would not be able to hear the alarm bell ringing any more. The air being sucked out would pop your ear drums, and pop the eyes out of your head, and boil your blood. Just like happened to Arnold Schwarzenegger on Mars in the Movie "Total Recall". Then the ship's captain, or maybe just a maintenance man responding to the alarm SCADA signal, would pull you back in, slam the door and slap you up-aside the head and say "What are you nuts?"
-
Yes if you opened a door to an airplane the air would be sucked out, but the air outside the airplane would be same as the inside, so it's okay. And the air isn't so forceful though.
-
I'm not sure but space is a vacuum and the air and everything that's not bolted down would be sucked out. I often wonder what space smells like.
-
Someone would yell at you to close the door and ask you if you live in a barn.
-
yes and if you had no spsacesuit on you would be dead, space acts like a vacuum
-
u blow up
