In the mid 1950s electrogravitics was the subject of a few press reports, including one that described work by most of the United States' major defense contractors, Cook reported.
And then it all went quiet -- just as stealth technology suddenly disappeared from view in the mid 1970s, only to re-emerge as operational aircraft in the late 1980s.

In the original Jetsons series from the early 1960s, there was no mention of what year it was supposed to be, but I seem to remember hints that it was much, much later than one century in the future. Whoever decided that it was 2062 made a very bad decision, and Jetsons fans should ignore it, in my opinion.

There is absolutely no evidence that such a thing could be possible. Some guy's 'intuition' is not evidence. We know better than to declare anything impossible, but you should not bet on it, even at apparently generous odds.

Nope. We will still fly in jets and cars (as we know them) will still be the primary transportation. The only thing that I think will be a huge difference is the source of fuel. Hydrogen will eventually replace gasoline.
