What is the speed of an asteroid

and the mass of each asteroid may contribute to the speed.-average is about 70,000 mph-Yeah they all have different speeds, so i cant tell you an exact answer.......
Do they have different speeds ?

Anything orbiting the sun at a certain distance has to have a pretty specific speed.

Most of the asteroids in our solar system are in a big asteroid belt (which is probably fragments of a planet that shattered) between Mars and Jupiter. Their orbital speeds are all right around 25,000 m/s, give or take a few thousand.

Here are orbital speeds for a few famous asteroids, like Eros and Ceres:

the speed any asteroid moves depends upon its distance from the Sun (NOT on the asteroids mass!). Closer ones move faster. An asteroid at Earth's distance, for example with move 18.5 miles per second. It it's orbit is elliptical, the speed will be 18.5 times a factor depending on how elliptical

Yes. The speed from different asteroids vary, and the mass of each asteroid may contribute to the speed.
