Indeed if you filled a soda bottle with Earth air at sea level and put it in the Venusian atmosphere, it would float at an altitude of 20 km because our air is lighter than Venusian air. At that altitude, the pressure is the same as on Earth at sea level, the temperature is from 0 to 50 celsius. Indeed we can build a floating city at that altitude and microscopic lifeforms that float in the atmosphere probably exist. Although we would not need spacesuits to be outside a habitat at that altitude, you would need an oxygen mask and protection from sulfuric acid rain, a safety cord would also be a very good idea. Such a city would probably have to start out as an inflatable blimp.

There's one interesting point regarding Venus, and it's that there is a place on the planet where the temperature is are about 20-40 Celsius and the air pressure is similar to that at sea level on Earth. This place is 50 kilometres above the surface of Venus.
However two things would still kill the plants. One is that plants do need atmospheric oxygen to survive, in the atmosphere of Venus they would suffocate just like an animal would. The other is that Venus' atmosphere is full of sulphur dioxide and sulphuric acid, which are pretty damaging to plants.
