I was just above passing in grade 8 with 60's, now I'm almost done grade.9 with 90's all because I realized my dream, I want to become an astronaut. I'm physically fit, nothing interests me more than space. I'm picking my classes for grade 10 and I need information on what classes I should take, I'm taking physics for sure, anybody who says keep dreaming... I will. My love for space is relarkably a lot, please excuse grammar mistakes typing on phone :).

This career choice is extremly competitive and hard. 40,000 applicants apply for this career and only 20 odd get in. And even then the training period is about two years, and only the best, mentally and physically get it. Anyhow if you do get the job; which I'm sure you will, you must revise extremly hard on Maths and Science (preferable Physics) Geography can help, depending on what field in science you would like to at, multiple language speaking can also help. You MUST remember that Astronauts aren't all the same. Each astronaut has different specialitys, for example some observe the atmosphere on Earth, others tdo ecperiments, some are the Space Station engineers, and some Fly the rockets to space. So pick your speciality and become master at it. Also there are different Countries you can work for like: NASA, ESA (like me), CSA, and many more.

Just keep this in mind, if you really want to do something you can do it, as long as you are determined enough to reach that goal.

I think you should read the excellent book, "Packing for Mars". It tells all about being an astronaut. Also watch the excellent movie, "The Right Stuff" which is a comedy about the early space program. "October Sky" is another great movie.
Werner Von Braun, the famous rocket scientist, was asked by his teacher what he wanted to do when he grew up? He replied,"Rocket scientist". His teacher then said, "You, Werner? You, a rocket scientist? I don't think so. You are no good in Math. " After that, young Werner made certain that he did well in Math.
