If you live on the east coast, can you see Venus in the sky during the months of autumn?
Thanks :)

Regardless of where on Earth you live, in the autumn months of 2012, you'll be able to see Venus in the morning sky.
Before the autumn, and since you live in the US, you're in luck because you'll be able to catch the beginning of the Venus solar transit on June 6th.

This is pretty much a once-in-a-lifetime event, because the next one will only be in 2117. So find an astronomy club around where you live and see if you can hook up with them on that day (it's a Wednesday).

where you live is irrelevant. And the visibility of any planet changes from year to year as the planet and Earth each move around the Sun. Venus has been in our evening sky for several months, but soon will move through solar conjunction, after which it will be in the morning sky for months. Venus's cycle of appearances, properly called its synodic period, is about 579 days

Where you live has no effect on the visibility of planets. Venus will be a prominent object in the morning sky this autumn. In fact, most of the planets are visible most of the time, except for a month or two each year when they are too close to the Sun to be observed.
