I am doing a speech on why NASA should not be downsized. I have some key point in mind but I was wanting some more main points I could possibly use. Thanks

Talk about the financial incentives that we have to keep NASA. NASA's federal budget is less than a half of a percent - during the Apollo program I believe it was near 7%...highest it ever got, most of it spent on the moon landings. With only half a percent, we still get a lot from NASA. Imagine what we'd get with 1%. The space program is a great investment: for every dollar spent toward NASA, it returns at least $2 in direct and indirect benefits.

The Head of NASA was grilled by a Congressional committee today, crticising planned cutbacks. Check C-SPAN, or ask your congressional rep to provide a copy of the transcript
