Can solar flares cause earthquakes

There are powerful earthquakes all the time. The actual data show no correlation between earthquakes and solar activity. Theres also the fact that there is no known physical means by which solar activity can affect seismic activity on Earth.Solar flares happen all the time. Youve lived through hundreds, if not thousands of them already,......
I was reading an article that said the recent solar flares could possibly cause earthquakes. It also said that all people in earthquake prone areas should be on watch. I live near the San Andreas Fault in California, so that apply's to me. Sounds a bit cheesy to me...

No, that's nonsense.

Solar flares cannot cause earthquakes. Coronal mass ejections, which is probably what you're thinking of, also cannot cause earthquakes.

Yes, there have been several powerful earthquakes recently. There are powerful earthquakes all the time. The actual data show no correlation between earthquakes and solar activity. There's also the fact that there is no known physical means by which solar activity can affect seismic activity on Earth.

Solar flares happen all the time. You've lived through hundreds, if not thousands of them already, including several that were stronger than the one this week. They are not and have never been dangerous to anyone on Earth.
