it was by definition an Unidentified Flying Object. This doesnt make it from another world, but it does make it a UFO.Yes.-Oh yeah.Of course your mum doesnt lie.......

Satan's Claws is correct, if it was flying and she couldn't identify it, it was by definition an Unidentified Flying Object. This doesn't make it from another world, but it does make it a UFO.

Yes.

Oh yeah. Of course your mum doesn't lie. And why should I take your word for it?

Drugs are bad mmmmmm'kay

Just so you know, your mum lies.

She's also not all knowing. And that was even more likely to be true when she was ten. The point being, you're using the thirty year old observations of a ten year old to question whether or not beings traveled light-years across the galaxy to leave their lights on at night while trying to remain unseen. I'd not use that kind of evidence to judge the reality of a cat burglar creeping round the yard. I'd have to go have a look round.

And as has already been alluded to, using pleas to the emotions of your audience are bad argument and hazardous to your own emotions if the audience doesn't fall… honor it.

Edit: As for the UFO: I'll accept the "unidentified"; the flying is another matter altogether, and "object" is speculative too. Light refracting through a drop of dew on the window screen will create a diomond pattern of light on the window that will move as the car headlights move. As the car tuns the corner, so as not run into your house, both both headlights and "UFO" disappear. Something a ten year old might just interpret as Rainbow Bright riding on My Little Pony coming for a visit (or Glenda, The Good Witch of the South, in my day) but modified to UFO given thirty years hindsight.
