Are there a such thing as baby ants, or do they just hatch normal size

Ants go through a life cycle called complete metamorphosis, which means that they hatch as grub-like larvae and later go through a stage called the pupa stage where they transition into their adult forms. Other types of Insects that go through complete metamorphosis include Fleas, Flies, Butterflies, Beetles, Bees, and Wasps.

Other Insects have incomplete metamorphosis, the young are called nymphs and they look something like smaller versions of the adults. Insects with this life cycle include Silverfish, Dragonflies, Mayflies, Cockroaches, Praying Mantids, Termites, Stink Bugs, Cicadas, and Aphids.

Baby ants are legless larvae. The larvae pupate, and from the pupa emerges the adult ant. Adult ants don't grow.
