i live in england, and a big cockroach looking bug just flew in the house, i have never seen anything like it in england.
Its about the size of a cockroach, dark brown, has wings, what looks like a stinger on the back and had really weird eyes as if it was coming out like a snails does but with almost hairs coming off it, but we just looked again and it looked like the eyes had gone. Its got 6 legs the 2 back ones are bigger.
Any ideas on what it is?

It's a may bug. Aka cockchafer.

It's a Cockchafer, also called a May Bug. I had never seen one before in my life until two weeks ago when we were having a barbecue. I researched them on Wikipedia and apparently they almost went extinct in the middle of the 20th century. But in the early 80's when greater regulation of pest control it has made a recovery.

Probably a Hornet, we do have them here, they're pretty much like huge wasps.
