Isn't it racist or unpolitically correct to call Africanized honey bees killer bees

You don't call African humans killer humans don't you?

How is it racist? 'African' bees is not synonymous with 'black people,' if that's what you're alluding to. The aggressive breed the honeybees were mated with came from--wait for it--Africa. Also, 'killer bees' is a pretty apt description for their behavior. I'm fairly sure many people aren't even aware that "killer bees" are 'Africanized.'

No it isn't racist. Killer bees can and do kill people. They are not like the usual bees were used to. They are aggressive in their behavior. The can and do sting their victims anywhere from 100 to 1,000 times. Some people are hospitalized for weeks waiting to see if their venom kills them. Others are not so lucky and have been killed by their stings. You don't even have to do anything you would consider to be threatening, but it may be to them and their nest, if you're in the vicinity of it.

Killer bee is incorrect. Even European bees will sting as much as the African ones. And as you have seen not many people die from africanized bees, only pets do. And even at that its very difficult to tell the difference between the bees.
