.. No predators are in their normal habitat, they dont help to keep other species down, all their uses seem to be man made........
Every animal in the world has a purpose, and I cannot think of one for earwigs...

They eat decaying matter, and are food for other animals.

Since transport isn't a natural purpose, I would say camels are pretty pointless... No predators are in their normal habitat, they don't help to keep other species down, all their uses seem to be man made...

The word 'earwig' comes from the Old English 'earwicga', which means ear beetle. It was once believed that earwigs would crawl into the ear of a sleeping human at night and lay their eggs in their brain. In reality, earwigs are harmless to people. First they serve a purpose to the food chain usually as scavengers or sometimes omnivores. As scavengers they are beneficial because they feed on decaying matter to clean the environment. They make good prey for predators. When earwigs eat plants, they prefer to feed on weeds. They not only eat the weeds themselves, they also consume the seeds of the weeds. The earwig's mulching abilities can enhance the soil that it inhabit, making the soil even more ideal for planting.

Food for larger arthropods, such as centipedes. Other than that, they're just scavengers of dead organic material.
