Can we use static electricity to light a bulb?
I recently saw a video of two students holding a light bulb in one hand while rubbing their other hands to their clothes and when their hands touched the light bulb start glowing how is this possible??

Electric current can cause heat, and if there is enough of it, you can cause the filament of a light bulb to get hot enough to glow.
But it takes a lot of electric current to light a bulb, and in terms of static electricity, that is a huge amount of charge flowing every second. I seriously doubt you could do what that video seems to show. I'd suspect it is faked.

Energy = V * q
where q is the charge flowing.
If q is zero ( static electricity) then Energy must be zero.
To make any bulb glow you must have some current. Charge must flow.
The electricity must stop being static.
Now if you have a typical static system which has an extremely high value of V and some charge stored,
then a tiny amount of current can carry enough energy to make something glow.
But the charge is no longer static. Current is flowing and unless the charge is being replaced it will quickly decline to zero.
So I take my car for a drive on a warm dry summer's night. I park it in my garage. If I hold a fluorescent light tube in my hand and I touch it to the car then the tube glows for a short while until the charge has all gone through the tube, then through me and to the ground.
It isn't static that is lighting the bulb, it is current flow. Energy MUST come from somewhere.
This doesn't take long.
