What is Planke Length?

answers:
goring say: its really the result of proving the smallest measurement on a mass volume. It was M Monson that made the calculation on the dimension of a massive particle volume of light.
The calculation indicates approx 4.5 x 10^-35 meter of diameter for the light particle.
However a boat" planke" is about 3 paces or about nine feet of length.

adrian say: About 6", I've seen him in the shower.

oldprof say: Lp = 3E-35 meters approximately.
It seems from experiment and from theory to be the absolute minimum length anything can be. So, for example, space itself must be granular with 3E-35 m grains making up space.
Planck Length can be found from Lp = C Tp; where C ~ 300E6 m/s is light speed and Tp = 1E-43 seconds is a Planck second.
So Lp = 300E6*1E-43 = 300E-37 = 3E-35 meters. QED

Andrew Smith say: People have told you about the PLANCK length.
Ye olde planke lengthe is verily around 3 paces.
-
Jeffrey K say: 10^-33 cm
It is the smallest unit of length. It is a quantum of space. No distance can be smaller.
-
say: About 3 m depending upon which wood yard you go to.
-
ANDRE L say: The Planck length is the scale at which classical ideas about gravity and space-time cease to be valid, and quantum effects dominate. This is the quantum of length, the smallest measurement of length with any meaning. And roughly equal to 1.6 x 10-35 m or about 10-20 times the size of a proton.
