Compensating errors; the results x=3z & y=2z are correct, and from those the right result follows.
I need to learn ∆-* conversion -- I've seen it done, but have never absorbed it. I'm guessing it is derivable from Kirchoff's Laws, yes?

Correcting for the error pointed out by the asker
=> x + z = 2y ... ( 1 ) and
5(z + y + z) = 10 (x - z)
=> 2x - 4z = y ... ( 2 )
Solving ( 1 ) and ( 2 ), x = 3z and y = 2z.
