Why is there snow and ice

The thing is, snow is frozen from more disperse water droplets, than what we call ice.Ice by contrast is frozen from already settled bodies of liquid water.Much less air space between the units of ice, so that the entire ice body is a single crystal.......
What makes hem different? They are both made out of frozen water, so why dont they just be the same?

For the same reason there is sand and rocks.

Snow actually is ice, at a localized level. The thing is, snow is frozen from more disperse water droplets, than what we call ice. Ice by contrast is frozen from already settled bodies of liquid water. Much less air space between the units of ice, so that the entire ice body is a single crystal.

Ice and snow are both frozen water, yes, but they crystallize in completely different ways and under different conditions.

Snow is frozen before it precipitates, so it just falls as soft flakes. Ice is made when you have liquid water that just freezes in place.
