I have been experimenting with my dreams lately (meaning in the past half year). I find that one can easily influence their dream based on the last feeling they had literally the *second* before falling asleep. I learned to control my feelings (literally), so on that level am able to control what kind of dreams I have - happy, sad, adventurous, etc. I have also had some experience with lucid dreaming in the faarr past...
But the one thing I can't get a hang on is creating a world in the dream that you would return to and continue living in each time you go to sleep. It has been my goal for quite a while now, but I can't seem to get it right.
I have had many dreams where I remember being there before, but wouldn't it be really amazing if you could live in two realities - this reality, and a whole world that you continue living on in when you go to sleep? I suppose it's comparable to the movie Avatar. Anyone have any ideas on how to do this? (preferably lucid dreamers etc.) Thanks :)

With dreams, it's difficult, because the subconscious will interrupt your actions.
In the astral, that is easy, when I was in the astral, I've seen many things that were created by people on the physical plane, just with their thoughts. For example, a meteorite in 2000, probably created by the fear of people, then the "heaven" that many religious people believe, it was all created by their thoughts. Even video game realms exist (created by addicted people).
With this, you can create your "world" and then make a visit in your dreams or astral projection experiences.
But remember to remember your world (xD), or it will vanish.

you cant really influence your dreams like that. they are subconcious and uncontrollable, really. i dont think its possible. but thats just my view on things.
