Odd question time.is it possible for an air breathing creature to drown in air

was playing terraria and used a gills potion and notice when not in liquid your character can't breathe.

drown means the lungs which should have air in them are filled with fluid

suffocate means to fail to get the Oxygen from air or water ( lungs or gills)

fish or animals can suffocate when the O2 runs that was supposed to be in the water or air
