i lied on my bed and when i a fixed stare i could see millions of tiny dots rushing past, were they particles? if so what of?
-
that was not particles because they cannot not be seen what you must of seen was small fragments of dust that can show in a area of high light intensity i can understand what you are saying because i have seen exactly what you are asking
in contrast the tiny dots could also be your eyes seeing dots due to high pressure on your cornea because when you lie down a lot of blood rushed back leading to a deficient blood supply in your eye socket hence the tiny dots
but i would rather believe it could be my first idea rather then the second because its more sensible to think about it.

Assuming you are looking at a plain surface, they will be "floaters" in your eye. Your eye is alive, like the rest of you, so bits of cells and loose chemicals wander around in there until they land on some part of your eye from which they can be recycled. My optician said many were crystals of hyaluronic acid, which tend to form chains. Short-sighted people notice them more, because of where the image develops in a myopic eye.

It's the water in your eyes, don't know what it's called but when you focus you can see small shapes go by your eyes. Nothing to worry about :)
