I actually was working on my homework for calculus, but then this problem arose and I've been stuck at it for a good 2 hours. The denominator is 0 even after I got rid of the radical, what do I do??

Thank you very much for the help. This is much appreciated.

lim x->1 [(x²-1)(√(x+3)+2)]/(x+3-4)
lim x->1 [(x-1)(x+1)(√(x+3)+2)]/(x-1)
We can cancel out a (x-1)
lim x->1 (x+1)(√(x+3)+2)
Now, you can plug in 1 and get:
lim x->1 = 6
lim x->1 [(x-1)(x+1)(√(x+3)+2)]/(x-1)
We can cancel out a (x-1)
lim x->1 (x+1)(√(x+3)+2)
Now, you can plug in 1 and get:
lim x->1 = 6
