If you have an even function and f(-x) = f(x)

Does that mean that an even function f(1/2f) = -1/2f(x)?

Nope! It means f(1/2) = f(-1/2)
Think of a parabola with it's vertex on the center. If you pick x = 1 or x = -1, you get the same y value.
