Ok next year is the year that I am going into high school. I'm in the advanced track but right now I can get out of it, if I continue with the advanced track I will go into Geometry next year, Algebra 2 the next, and than I would go into Pre-calculus. I've heard that Pre-Calculus is a had class, and I want to have a high grade in a math class, so I am kind of thinking about going into the regular track. In that track you go to Algebra 1b, than Geometry, and than go to Algebra 2. In my school once your in the advanced track your stuck and there is no way out of it. But if I wanted to go to the regular track I could get back into the advanced track. There's only three days left of school and I need to make my decision, so I want to turn to the people who have been in these classes to say what they thought of them!

As a math teacher my question is this. Are you currently in the accelerated program at the middle school level? If you are and you find the math you are currently doing not challenging (meaning "easy" for a lack of a better word) for you I would stay on the "advanced" track. You may even get college credit for some of the higher math classes you take in high school.
However, if you are finding the math you are currently taking extremely challenging I would take the "regular" track and then you can accelerate into the "advanced" track.
Precalculus and Calculus are hard if you do not have a solid foundation and understanding of algebra skills. It will also mean studying more to do well. Good luck in your endeavors.

Currently I am in ninth grade and I am doing Pre-Calculus and has been just mostly review on integrated algebra, geometry, algebra 2, and triginomitry. However even if you go into the advanced track you can get out of it as far as I am aware, all you would have to do is not take math one year. This would require approval from the head of your school's math department though.

It's not that hard. Once you've been through Geometry and Algebra 2, you should be well prepared for pre-calc
