The question is: "Find cos s if csc s = -5/3 and if s is in quadrant IV."

I'm not exactly sure what this type of problem is called or how to solve it at all. I was wondering if anyone could either help me solve and give a step by step explanation and/or find a site that would help me solve for it with a step by step solution.

csc s = -5/3
sinx = -3/5

sin^2 x + cos^2 x = 1
cosx = ±√1-(-3/5)^2 = ± 4/5

Since cos has positive value in quadrant IV , cos x = 4/5
