1. Latitude measures the distance (in degrees – north or south) above and below the equator. The equator has a latitude of 0°. Your friend lives in a town 10 degrees north of Cleveland. Cleveland has a latitude of 40° N. If you reflect the town's location over the equator, what would be its new latitude?

B. 40° N
C. 50° S
D. 50° N

These are VERY simple problems. If you can't answer these, you need help more than you know. I will give you some help on the second one without doing the problem for you. Think about it.If someone drives 4 times more than another person, then do a sample in your head. Let's say Mrs Harper drove 20 miles. Well, if Mr Harper drove four times as far then he obviously drove 4 times 20 or 80 miles. Together then they drove her 20 and his 80 for a total of 100 miles. Mathematically, you would say that 4 (20) + 20= 100. However, you don't know how many each one drove in actual numbers but what you do know is Mr H drove 4 times as far as Mrs H. You do know that the total they drove is 510 miles. Using the info I gave you above should give you an equation to solve. You simply let x equal the number that Mrs H drove and the rest you should be able to figure out. Sorry--not gonna do your homework for you.
Well looks like Megan gave you the answers but you need to know HOW to do these. If Mrs H drove x miles then the old man drove 4x. Together they drove 4x + x = 510 miles. Solve for x
