f(x) = x/(x^2+1)
my math book says this function is even, but by the test in which f(x) = f(-x) to be even, when its f(-x) isnt it -x/(x^2+1) therefore its not even, but odd right?

This function is odd, it's definitely NOT even because you have an odd function, x, times an even function, 1/(x² + 1), which makes an odd function.
