Clock problem help pls!!!!!!!!!!!!

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-01-26] [Hit: ]
the time interval is 6.4 hours.6.4/2 = 3.2 x 8 minutes = a gain of 25.6 minutes.......
The clock is gaining 8 min per two hours, if it is set at 10.10,then what is the correct time if it shows 4.34 on the same day.pls explain the proceedings in detail

-
The proper time is 4:10
The clock had changed by 6 hours and 24 minutes.
If it gains 8 minutes every 2 hours then in 6 hours it will gain 24 minutes. (2*3=6 8*3=24)
That means that it is 24 minutes ahead and that you need to subtract 24 minutes from the time shown.

Hope this helps

10:10 to noon/midnight = 1 hr + 50 minutes

Noon/midnight to 4:34 = 4 hr + 34 minutes

Add: 5 hours and 84 minutes which is the same as 6 hours and 24 minutes.

As a decimal, 24 minutes would be 24/60 or .4.

So, the time interval is 6.4 hours.

6.4/2 = 3.2 x 8 minutes = a gain of 25.6 minutes.

Add this gain to the correct time (4.34 + 25.6) = clock time of 4.59.6.

Let me convert the hours into minutes. Let x depict correct time and y depict the clock time.
120x=128y
number of minutes between the clock reaching 10.10am to 4.34pm is 384y. Using the above equation, we get 360x. So the actual time is 4.10pm

4.34 is 16.34.
16.34-10.10=6hr24mints=>384min
this clock gains 8min every 2 hrs=>8/120=>0.066min per min,
time ahead = 0.066X384 = 253.44min =>4hrs 20 mn (approx.)
real time = time on clock -time ahead
= 4.34-4.20
=0.14 => 12.20(ans).
