use your calculator program in windows under accessories.
Click view scientific type 616.343 then chose radial option bin...
and get a whole number...
1001101000
The way to do this by hand
list your binaries
512,125,64,32,16,8,4,2,1,0.5,0.25,0.125…
and subtract without going over
616.343-512 = 104.343
104.343-64 = =40.343
40.343 - 32 = 8.343
8.343-8 = 0.343
0.343 - 0.25 = 0.093
0.093 -0.0625 = 0.0305
0.0305-0.015625 = 0.014875
...
giving us about 101101000.010101
Did it say how many decimal places it needed? It seems to be non terminating.
This isn't so easy for a 38 year old math tutor either. :)
