Otherwise it cannot exist. You know the Pythagorean theorem?......
so i am doing my homework and the questions says:

determine wether each set of numbers can be the measures of the sides of a triangle. If so classify the triangle as obtuse, acute, or right.

then it gives me these three problems

1) 7,24,25
2) 13,15,16
3) 65,72,88

so i am really confused on how to do this is anyone could please help me by explaining this to me !
thankss

To find out if the triangle can even exist, add up the 2 smaller sides. They must be greater than the 3rd (and largest) side. Otherwise it cannot exist.

You know the Pythagorean theorem? a^2 + b^2 = c^2
If a^2 + b^2 = c^2 then it is a right triangle
If a^2 + b^2 > c^2 then it is an acute triangle
If a^2 + b^2 < c^2 then it is an obtuse triangle
Be sure to use the largest side for c
