Does it open up or open down?

-
vertex would be (5,-4)
axis of sym.- x=5
up

-
find the derivative

set derivative equal to zero and find your x value.
plug x value into original equation to get y. vertex = (x,y)

once you have your x value test x values to the left and right of the vertex in your derivative

it goes + values on left to - values on right it is open down
it goes - values on the left to + values on the right it is open up
