a binomial has two parts... hence the bi- like a bi-cycle.........
Siplify the epression below.

-4x - (-x) whats the answer and how did u do it?

ALSO

whats a binomial? WHich one of the following
1) p (squared)
2) 3w
3) 3w + 1
4) 2p (squared) + 2p + 2.

If you can only answer one than go ahead! THANKS

-
you factor out a negative x then reduce. so -4x- -x = (-x)(4-1) = -3x

a binomial has two parts... hence the bi- like a bi-cycle... so 3

now do your homework

-
i sorta suck at math but for the second half I think 3w + 1 is the binomial.
for the first half, I would change -4x - (-x) to -4x + x cuz a negative minus a negative is just a negative plus a positive. then the answer would be -3x.
sorry if these are wrong ):

-
-4x minus negative x equals -4x plus x because 2 neg=positive so -3x

binomial = 3)
because it has 2.. nomials? 3w and 1. trinomials i think it's called would be like 3x^2 + 2x + 1

-
Two negatives really turns into a +

So it would be -4x + x = -3x

For the second question, the correct answer would be 3. This is because the expression has two polynomials.

-
First one is -3x. When you subtract a negative number, it's just like adding it. So add 1 x to -4x and it becomes -3x. And the second question is number 1

-
-3x
binomial has 2 terms so the answer is 3w+1

-
answer number 3 for the second one

-4x - (-x) = -4x + x = -3x

-
for the first one you would combine -4x and -x so it would be -5x...i think

-
your second question would be choice 3
