..y^2+16y = -4.5x-23.The original equation I had was (y+8)^2 = -4.5(x-9) if that helps at all.......
How do I solve for y? It has to be able to go into a graphing calculator.....

y^2+16y = -4.5x-23.5

The original equation I had was (y+8)^2 = -4.5(x-9) if that helps at all. Thanks!

using your original
(y+8)^2=-4.5(x-9)
y+8=sqrt[-4.5(x-9)]
y=sqrt[-4.5(x-9)]-8
