What advantages do LED bulbs have over other types of bulbs such as fluorescent?
In terms of reliability/feasibility, cost savings, maintenance etc

Philomel say: LED's can be strobed at very high frequencies so the wattage is controllable. They have very long lifetimes up to 20 years. They come in different colors so they can be spectraly tuned to the requirement. They are very light and small for potrable applications. They are relatively cheap over long periods of use. they have very high reliability.
