LG say: To the extent that it starts to isolate us, yes.
I remember my dad telling me stories about what it was like before there was TV. People used to hang around on their front porches at night, talk to neighbors walking by. Made it feel like a community where everybody knows each other. Then TV came along and everyone's inside watching what would become referred to as the "boob tube" Now we don't really know our neighbors anymore. They're to be feared(because of all the bad stuff we see on the 10:00 news) rather than people we want to know.
But on the other side of the coin, look at history. Until about the 1800's, very few people lived to their 60's. Most died in their 40's, mostly due to infectious diseases. With technology, most people live into their 70's now.
I think the idea that the recent uptick in drug addictions has something to do with technology isolating us even further is worth looking into.

Steven say: The internet is plagued by Trolls and idiots and scam artists. Idiots drive while texting. But I don't think it's possible to keep powerful tools out of the hands of fools. This is why product regulation is so important. Some day, products will be smart enough to prevent idiots hurting themselves and others.

Lyar say: No, that's just silly. Certainly there are negative uses of technology, like more advanced weapons and bio-engineered viruses. But there are so many more positives. We're steps away from the human lifespan reaching a thousand years. Within a couple generations we'll have colonized another planet. Soon the entire planet will have access to the internet, with no more government imposed barriers. Sure things can seem scary, but if history has shown us anything it's that we're progressing towards the better.
