This question is referring to IR Spectroscopy. Which of the compounds (in the link below) wouldn't show a C=C absorption peak? Please explain! I would like to understand the concept behind it :)

I'm working on the EXACT same problem right now. I think the answer is the last one, because carbon-carbon double bonds and carbon-carbon triple bonds do not usually give strong absorptions, and "they are absent if the if the double or triple bond is symmetrically substituted." The last molecule is the only one of the group in which the C=C bond exhibits symmetry. Forgive me if I'm wrong. That's the best I could find.
