Hi, Issac. The electron configuration of Chromium can be written using two different methods, one would be list each orbital, and the electrons in it, placing them in their correct positions of increasing energy levels, or the most common convention of using a type of 'shorthand' by using the preceding Noble Gas as the base and then naming the additional orbitals in the order of their increasing energy potentials. This is done to remove the possibility of mis-stating the position of the orbital, number of electrons in that orbital or confusing their energy levels. This will give the configuration of: [Ar]4s2, 3d5 for Chromium.
