please help with this question

generally how does Tautomerism apply to unbound acac ligands ?

the acac ligand is a five carbon chain with two double bonded O's at positions 2 and 4. The only way that it can be a bidentate is by acquiring a hydrogen between the O's (see the illustration on the acac Wikipedia page) which is what tautomerism is :)
